
Frank Strauss
Mr. Strauss has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry including fifteen years on the investment management side. From 1992 to his joining Beacon in the spring of 2004, Mr. Strauss held the positions of CFO & Treasurer of the CGM Funds. In this role, Mr. Strauss was responsible for first internalizing and then managing all facets of Fund Administration including compliance, tax, financial reporting, blue sky administration, performance, and shareholder tax reporting. He developed the firm's Disclosure Controls and Procedures to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Act. He was also responsible for vendor review and fee negotiations as well as internal audit. Prior to CGM, Mr. Strauss was the Vice President of Fund Accounting at Freedom Capital from 1989–1992. Additionally, from 1984–1989 he worked for State Street Bank and The Boston Company on the mutual fund accounting operations side. An active member of NICSA's Custody, Fund Accounting, and Fund Administration Committee for the past decade, Mr. Strauss has been a regular speaker on industry panels. He has a Bachelors of Science degree from Boston University and a Masters of Business Administration from Boston College. In 1995 Mr. Strauss founded Mutual Funds Against Cancer (MFAC), an organization which is now one of the leading advocates in the fight against cancer within the mutual fund and financial services industries. He presently holds the position of Chairman of the organization.
