Keith P. Brown

 

 

 

 



 

 

Mr. Brown has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry. His areas of expertise have been developed through direct participation in the industry and leading numerous business and systems consulting engagements, including: mutual fund and institutional investment management operations and systems, investment banking operations, investment compliance, and institutional client servicing.

Prior to founding Beacon Consulting Group in 1999, Mr. Brown was a principal consultant, and practice leader for accounting and custody, within the Investment Management consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Boston. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Brown was a senior manager in the Financial Markets practice of Andersen Consulting. Additionally, Mr. Brown spent seven years at The Boston Company performing a variety of financial and operational roles, most recently as the finance director of the company’s mutual fund servicing division. Mr. Brown has a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance from Fairfield University.

Michael Kerrigan

 

 

 

 


 

 

Mr. Kerrigan has over eighteen years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in middle and back office investment management operations and technology integration. His prior experience within the industry includes investment management operations, product development, systems development and integration, and sales. Mr. Kerrigan has led numerous business and systems consulting engagements for a number of the firm's clients, including institutional asset managers, mutual fund managers, banks, and technology firms. Prior to co-founding Beacon, Mr. Kerrigan was with PricewaterhouseCoopers Investment Management consulting practice. Additionally, Mr. Kerrigan spent several years with the Boston Company and First Data Corporation. He has a BS from Providence College in Business Management and an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.

Mr. Kerrigan is involved in a number of charitable and non-profit organizations. He is a past President of the Business Associates Club, a Boston based organization founded in 1923, focused on bringing young business people together to learn from nationally known executives, educators, and politicians. Mr. Kerrigan is on the board of directors of Expect Miracles, a leading advocate in the fight against cancer within the mutual fund and financial services industries.  In addition, he is on the Board of Trustees of Mount Ida College.

Frank Strauss

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Strauss has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry including fifteen years on the investment management side. From 1992 to his joining Beacon in the spring of 2004, Mr. Strauss held the positions of CFO & Treasurer of the CGM Funds. In this role, Mr. Strauss was responsible for first internalizing and then managing all facets of Fund Administration including compliance, tax, financial reporting, blue sky administration, performance, and shareholder tax reporting. He developed the firm's Disclosure Controls and Procedures to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Act. He was also responsible for vendor review and fee negotiations as well as internal audit.

Prior to CGM, Mr. Strauss was the Vice President of Fund Accounting at Freedom Capital from 1989–1992. Additionally, from 1984–1989 he worked for State Street Bank and The Boston Company on the mutual fund accounting operations side. An active member of NICSA's Custody, Fund Accounting, and Fund Administration Committee for the past decade, Mr. Strauss has been a regular speaker on industry panels. He has a Bachelors of Science degree from Boston University and a Masters of Business Administration from Boston College. In 1995 Mr. Strauss founded Mutual Funds Against Cancer (MFAC), an organization which is now one of the leading advocates in the fight against cancer within the mutual fund and financial services industries. He presently holds the position of Chairman of the organization.

Gerry Healy

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Healy is a resourceful professional with over twenty years of experience helping clients achieve business objectives. His Beacon projects have focused on improving the operations of asset managers, including alternative investments, and asset service providers. He has led risk assessments and financial reporting process reviews. He also conducted an operating model redesign initiative for a global fund administrator and custodian bank. Mr. Healy spent 15 years at Deloitte where he focused on improving key tax processes by devising a knowledge management strategy and implemented solutions that improved client service quality and productivity.  He was a major contributor to the firm's national initiative to streamline the tax compliance process which resulted in significant efficiencies and provided the impetus for several subsequent initiatives including tax software development, training and outsourcing initiatives. Mr. Healy was also a tax manager at Deloitte and managed client relationships and client service engagements for high net worth individuals and several investment management companies.

Mr. Healy has a B.A. (cum laude) in Political Science from Salem State College; an M.B.A from Suffolk University and a M.S. - Taxation from Bentley College.  He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.   Mr. Healy is treasurer of New England String Ensemble and on the Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House.

Keith Totten

 

 

 

 

 



 

 

Mr. Totten has over twelve years of experience in the financial services industry. He specializes in the optimization of operations and technology for front, middle, and back office services. He has worked with multiple global investment managers and industry service providers in support of operating model development, technology integration, and organizational alignment. Prior to joining Beacon, Mr. Totten had an eight year career at State Street Corporation located in Boston, MA. While at State Street, he held multiple positions including roles in mutual fund operations (global custody, accounting, and administration), client consulting, and business development. Within State Street 's mutual fund operations he was responsible for managing multiple client relationships and led various technology and operations initiatives. Mr. Totten then transitioned to State Street 's Consulting Services Group where he supported the due diligent efforts for large outsourcing/sales initiatives and led client engagements focused improved workflows and automation.

In late 2003, Mr. Totten supported the creation of State Street 's Global Business Development Group focused on acquisitions, joint ventures, and outsourcing opportunities. Mr. Totten serves as a member of the Business Associates Club focused on information sharing between professionals across various industries. He is also actively involved with several charities within the Massachusetts area. Mr. Totten has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration from Furman University.

Michael DiScipio

 

 

 

 



 

Mr. DiScipio is a consultant with Beacon Consulting Group specializing in operational redesign and systems analysis.  He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including back-office brokerage and accounting, front-office fixed income, order routing, custody, and domestic and international mutual fund operations.  Mr. DiScipio also has extensive experience with the software development lifecycle including business requirement definition, functional design and testing methodology. 

Prior to joining Beacon Consulting Group, Mr. DiScipio performed consulting work with Eagle Investment Systems.  In this role, Mr. DiScipio was called upon to lead several strategic projects including proof-of-concept initiatives as well as operational redesigns in support of the STAR Mutual Fund application.  Prior to consulting, Mr. DiScipio was the Vice President of Client Technology Solutions with Brown Brothers Harriman.  In this capacity, he managed a team responsible for the development and implementation of all client reporting products and electronic interfaces.  Additionally, Mr. DiScipio has held various management roles within the financial services industry including: Fund Accounting, Fund Administration and Business Analysis.

Peter O'Connell

 

 

Mr. O'Connell has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry, specializing in management of investment management operations and technology.  He was formerly CEO and President of DST Canada and IFDS Canada where he managed numerous technology developments, the integration of full service operations, and business development.  In Mr. O'Connell's extensive career with State Street Bank, he managed Mutual Fund Operations, investment operations at State Street Global Advisors, and Client Relations for State Street's largest accounts.  Prior to State Street, Mr. O'Connell spent several years with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell.  He has a BA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a MS in Accounting from Northeastern University, and a Master of Arts from Northwestern University.
